Decorate with us on Sunday November 22 after lunch…see details

Christmas is coming!  As we approach the season of advent, we’d like to not only prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth but also prepare our building to be a space for that celebration.  On Sunday, November 22nd, after the Flint hour, all are invited to bring a pot of soup and a side to share (salad, bread, or dessert).  We will eat together and then whoever is able can join in for decorating the building.

Thanks,

Becky Dryden

Youth Ministry Launching…3,2,1…

keep-calm-and-go-to-youth-group-7Dear Church Family,

Michael Biegler began serving as the Cornerstone Youth Intern effective Sunday November 15th. He already has great ideas on how to help our middle school and high school kids come to grow in their relationship with Christ and then move out in service to Christ. Keep him in your prayers.

Here are some important dates you’ll want on your calendar for the remainder of 2015:

November 29, 12:15-1:30PM: Volunteer and Parent Lunch Meeting (lunch provided). If you have children in 7-12th grades or are interested in helping Michael, please RSVP to Michael by end of day Sunday November 22 (mbiegleryfc@gmail.com). If you’re willing to volunteer, please talk to him asap.

December Youth Gatherings: After making some calls to confirm the best night for a weekly gathering, we will start having a weekly gathering for 7-12th grade students on Wednesdays nights in December (2, 9, and 16). These will meet from 7-8:30PM at the Church Facility.

Youth Christmas Party: Sunday night December 20th (details to come)

High School Impact Conference Registrations Due December 9: 9-12th grade students need to get their registration form and payment to Michael by Wednesday night December 9th. Make checks out to Cornerstone Church. More info here: http://www.reachstudentscd.com/impact/

Oh, and parents, please read this good article on the importance of prioritizing youth ministry in the lives of your children: http://gregstier.dare2share.org/a-letter-to-parents-about-keeping-your-teenagers-going-to-youth-group-in-spite-of-their-busyness

Love ya,
Pastor Matt

November 15, 2015: 1 Peter 2:13-25 “Everybody Has A Boss”

Big Idea:  Our heavenly calling gives our worldly calling a purpose.
