Kids SS – No Sunday School This Week

Just a reminder, there is no Sunday school this week. Please come to the potluck and congregational meeting though.

A prayer request: We really need one more helper for our Preschool class and a 3rd-5th grade teacher. Could you be an answer to that prayer? Contact Randy at to find out more.

October 29, 2017: Galatians 3:10-14 “Law-Keeping vs. Curse-Taking”

Big Idea:  Choices matter.  The road we take matters.

Kids SS – Jesus Was Born

Our passage this week for Sunday school is  Matthew 2:1-12 and Luke 2:1-20, the very familiar birth narrative. The main point is: “Jesus was born to be God’s promised Savior.” The key verse continues this week:  1 Timothy 1:15.

Have you watched the Peanuts Christmas with your family? Here’s Linus’ speech:

Now is a great time to be talking about the birth of Jesus because we’re not caught up in all of the “hustle and bustle” of the season. There is no expectation of presents, no waiting in line at the mall, no huge family gathering to prepare for. It’s just a normal day in October. And isn’t that what the first Christmas was like. Jesus came to earth with no grand fanfare. He was born to a poor family in a forgotten village in the middle of a forgotten nation.

But that Jesus would set the path of the rest of human history. At his name, we are told in Philippians, every knee will bow and tongue confess that He is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Now is a great time to talk about the real meaning of Christmas with your kids.

Sunday School Needs

We are in need of a couple of volunteers. We really need a preschool helper or two that can help love on our preschool class. If you are interested in helping, email  Randy Pospisil:

Also, we need your kids! Attendance has been low the last several weeks. We’ve made some changes to Sunday school to help kids get connected with teachers and kids their age. If you haven’t tried Sunday school in awhile, I’d really encourage you to check it out.
