The Pastor Post is a regular update from Pastor Matt with a brief meditation as well as information on upcoming events in the life of Cornerstone Church.

For instance, every follower of Jesus has to respond to this summons: “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” We are to come. We are to be fishers of people. And yet, the grace in this verse is the “I will make you…” Jesus turns us into bass-masters and expert anglers. We come; He transforms; we fish and even catch every now and again.
Announcements:
1) A Couch visit, this Sunday, September 22: I just heard that two missionaries we support, Larry and Jill Couch, will be worshipping with us this Sunday morning. They will be around in the lobby before and after church, and they plan to go out after church to meet with people. Larry and Jill need our support. Larry and Jill are looking for new ministry partners to pray and financially give to help them reach people for Jesus in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Come and meet them. Please, please, prayerfully consider giving hilariously to their mission.
2) A night of prayer and worship, October 14: Please put Monday October 14 @7:30PM on your family calendar. We will gather as a church family to pray and worship at the Church Office.
3) Praying for Linn County: One prong of this year’s ministry focus is daily prayer for people far from God. One way you can be praying is through Serve the City’s MyT2Save (‘might to save”) prayer initiative. Talk to Doug Hammes for more details. The long and short of it is that a team of people from different churches across Linn County is being formed to pray by name for every resident of Linn County. Would you be willing to pray for some of these people that they’d be drawn closer to God?
Excited to serve with you,
