Month: December 2013

December 8, 2013: Leviticus 1-7 “Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us, Part 1: To Sacrifice”

Big Idea:  To have God in my life requires the removal of all strife.

Pastor Post: December 6, 2013

Dear Church Family,

Please join us this Sunday December 8 for our first service at 925 Blairs Ferry Road (A.K.A. “The Warehouse for Worship”).

Our commemorative worship service will be at 10AM. We are planning a commemorative painting of sorts, so we’re giving a bit of air warning that we might have everyone’s hands get a bit dirty on Sunday. (nothing too serious, just giving you a heads up)

Our Flint Sunday School will be at 9AM.

We look forwarding to worshiping with you at The Warehouse this Sunday December 8.

Merry Christmas,

Pastor Matt

Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us: Advent Sermon Series

Starting this Sunday and for the next 4 Sundays in December, we will taking a tour of the book of Leviticus. This oft-neglected book gives us insight into the purpose of Jesus’ coming to earth in the 1st century. Thus, for us to really understand Christmas, we need to understand God’s Word to us in the book of Leviticus. We’ll look at 4 major reasons came to dwell with us over the next several weeks:

Dec. 8–Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us, Part #1: To Sacrifice

Dec. 15–Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us, Part #2: To Mediate

Dec. 22–Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us, Part #3: To Live

Dec. 29–Why Jesus Came to Dwell with Us, Part #4: To Fulfill

December 1, 2013: Psalm 13 “How Long, O Lord?”

Visiting Preacher: Alan Crandall (Presbyterian pastor and father of Jonathan Crandall, member of Cornerstone)

Big Idea:  Lament and praise are fused together by faith.
