Dear Church family,
Our 2014-2015 ministry year is about to kick off. Our theme this year is “In the Word for our Worlds.” We desire to be transformed by the Word of God so that we can be agents of transformation in the worlds God has put it–particularly at home, at work, with our neighbors, and extending to the nations. Key things coming up in our church family:
New Sermon Series in Ecclesiastes: This Sunday we start a sermon series in the book of Ecclesiastes. This book is about finding meaning in a seemingly meaningless world. This sermon series should appeal to skeptics and doubters of the Christian faith so please invite your neighbors and friends. But it will also help those already followers of Christ find hope in the seasons of life that feel empty and meaningless.
Small Groups launch: All of our home Bible study groups begin this coming week. Please plan to plug into a group. The times/places of these small groups is posted at the bottom.
New Bible Reading Plan, Starts September 1: Please join the dozens of folks who have already committed to reading the Bible daily from September 1st through the end of the year. You can get a printed Bible reading chart this Sunday or you can download the chart here: https://cornerstone-marion.org/wordpress/docs/Reading_Guide_Fall2014.pdf
Bible Discussion Group for Women: For 8 weeks starting Sept. 8th, Cornerstone will be hosting a Bible Discussion Group for women from 10 to 11am on Monday mornings. If you are newer to Cornerstone or are interested in investigating the Bible with other women, this is for you! There is no preparation needed; we will simply read and discuss questions around a passage from the book of John each week. Please contact Carrie Proctor with the number of children you need care for so we can provide adequate childcare.
Women of Cornerstone, Save the Date: Coffee, light refreshments, and informational meeting about upcoming ministry events for women on Monday, September 15th 7-9PM at The Warehouse (a.k.a “the church building”).
