On Wednesday February 18th, Christians around the world will enter into the season of Lent. Lent is a 40 day preparation period, inviting Christians to focus deeply on the incarnation, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So too, it is a time for personal reflection on our sin and frailties and the overcoming grace of Jesus Christ. This naturally will lead us to prayers of joy to God and prayers for those who do not yet know the amazing love, salvation, and mercy of Jesus Christ.
To encourage you to prayerful reflection, we want to offer 2 supports:
1) We will have a prayer guide for anyone interested that offers insights into prayer and opportunities to pray for local and global needs.
2) We will have a few Lenten prayer groups going from March 1 through March 29. More information will come out on these groups, but to give you an idea, the goal is for 5 groups to form, committing to pray 4-5 times, for 25 minutes each time. So far, we know there will be these groups…

There’s also a bonus opportunity on Sunday night March 29th when churches from the Cedar Rapids area will gather to pray together at 1st Assembly of God Church at 3233 Blairs Ferry Rd in CR.
