Dear Church Family,
This will be our 7th celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection together. I pray our hearts are growing in anticipation leading up to our celebration in 10 days.
I was reminded last week of an African Proverb that I pray we all embrace: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Cornerstone refuses to embrace the world’s speed. The most deadly lie we could believe is that a church is successful only if we do big things, famously and fast. Instead, we need to embrace a mentality that Jesus-like ministry is a sequence of slow, mostly-overlooked, quiet acts of charity, faithfulness, and hope. This sort of ministry cannot be done alone, and I consider it a rich privilege to be on it with you.
I love you. I love being your pastor.
To God be the glory,
