Matthew 9:35-38
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Will you join us at 9:38, either 9:38 AM or 9:38 PM, or both, to pray for harvesters for his fields. Use Matthew 9:38 as your guide. Pray for the following things:
“The harvest is plentiful” – the reality is that God is working in the world to bring people to himself. There are so many people that are ripe for the harvest. They are ready to hear the good news of Jesus and to turn and be saved.
“The workers are few” – even though God is working, He works through people who faithfully witness to His work in their life.
“Ask the Lord of the harvest” – remember, God is the one working. He is the one that calls, He is the one that convicts, He is the one that saves. God is not calling us to save the world, he is calling people to participate with him as He saves it.
“to send out workers into his harvest field” – God works through people. People that are willing to share their story and to share their life with a world that desperately needs to know the truth.
Today, would you pray for the national work of the Evangelical Free Church in America.
Please pray for the Lord to raise up a new generation of leaders who would champion the cause of planting new disciplemaking churches throughout our nation and world.
Pray for the national team of leaders working to develop systems and resources for planting. Pray that those systems and resources would fuel a culture of multiplication that would not only resource new church plants, but create a culture of multiplying disciples and leaders in all churches.
Pray that we would see a growing movement of ethnic and multi-ethnic congregations planted in response to the rapidly changing demographics in our country and out of obedience to our mission to make disciples of every tribe tongue and nation.
