Church Family,

Jesus’ resurrection proclaims victory over sin, death, and hell to all who repent and believe. It was a sweet joy to celebrate Christ’s resurrection with you this past Sunday. David Gardner reported that we had the highest worship attendance in Cornerstone’s history. A big thank you to the 23 car owners who parked in our new parking lot out back. This left 7 open spots up front! If you are willing, we’d really appreciate it if you could keep parking in back to offer welcoming hospitality (and a close parking spot) to visitors.

News of Note:

#1: Sunday School relaunch, this Sunday @11AM: (1) A new marriage Sunday School Class launches this Sunday in Room 101; we’d love to see couples take a few months to grow in their marriage. (2) The Doctrine Class will pick up again this Sunday in the Sanctuary. (3) Anne Cunningham continues to offer a women’s class using Precepts material. Our Sunday School classes for PreK-12th grade will continue as well.

#2: The Anamasa Church Plant continues to make strides in growth and faithfulness. Pray for them as they are hoping to choose a name for the church in the next few months. Pray for a possible church planter candidate who will be interviewed this week. Pray for the ministries of outreach and discipleship that take place weekly in Anamosa.

#3: Mark your calendars for our May 7th Family/Congregational Meeting. We’ll have a potluck from 10:45-11:45AM; then a time of prayer and worship from ~11:45-12:15; and then have a Congregational Meeting to look at our budget, discuss building projects, bring in new members, and discuss and pray through important congregational items.

I look forward to moving into Paul’s Letter to the Romans in April. Lord willing, we walk through chapters 1-8 throughout the summer on Sunday mornings. We’ll marvel at God’s salvation in Christ, our justification by faith, and the promises of ultimate glory with our God!

I love you,

Pastor Matt
