Pastor Post
(7/17/2025)
Cornerstone Church,
Join me in a big offering of praise and thanks to God for the amazing servant leaders Christ has given our church family in the 2024-2025 ministry year. As we close one ministry year and turn the corner for a fresh ministry year, I want to express my gratitude for your generous hours of service, sacrifices, and prayers. Well done my friends, well done.
“Equipping all to engage God’s call” is our vision. So what’s our mission? Equipping disciples. Engaging callings. Expanding Christ’s Church.
A pastor cannot equip all. An individual Sunday School teacher cannot equip all. We need each other to pour in our time, talent, and treasure to prepare 8-year-olds and 38-years olds to serve Jesus in their places of calling.
It’s so amazing how you live out our Core Values:
– Thank you Sunday school teachers; receive a well-earned break and I hope to see many of you at the teacher training on August 17. Our core value of Scriptural Saturation shines brightly in you.
– Thank you small group leaders and youth ministry superstars (many of you who keep plugging away during these months). One of our core values is Deep Intimacy. These gatherings are a great vehicle for building relationships with truth and grace.
– Thank you Elder Board, nursery workers, deacons, children’s church, tech, worship, hospitality and so much more. You live out our core value of Unselfish Service.
– Thank you local and global missions team; thank you for so many who have invested in Risen Hope Church; thank you for those who went to Berlin; thank you for praying for “Your One”; thank you for reaching out to lost people. Spiritual Multiplication used to be an aspirational value, but it’s becoming a reality in our church family.
– Thank you prayer leaders, Sunday morning prayer warriors, those who kneel in their closets each morning, and for those who pray for me, my family, and the Cornerstone Church body. Our core value of Dependent Faith must never be lost. Truly, we need Thee every hour.
May Jesus use us for noble purposes in the coming ministry year. (And to my servant leaders, mark your calendars for an important Leadership Summit on Monday August 18 @7PM.)
Oh, and let me mention my personal joy in the successful pledge campaign…to God be the glory.
Love to you in Christ,
Pastor Matt
P.S. Pastor Gary returns to the office on Monday July 21 after his summer sabbatical. Pray for his final days of renewal and rest. It’s a joy to work with this godly leader. (Matthew and Meegan are fantastic too!!)
