Pastor Post

Dear church family,

I have a dream. I dream that there’s a Christian on every block praying for their neighbors and hosting investigative Bible studies.
I have a dream. I dream that every workplace has a Christian humbly serving their coworkers and inviting them to church.
I have a dream that every local school has Christian teachers and students sharing their faith and loving the outcast.
I have a dream that dying churches find new life through gospel preaching and humble obedience.
I have a dream that our calendars and spending reports prize Christ above all else.
I long for new churches planted.
I see young missionaries sent out to translate the Bible in a language that’s never heard the gospel.
I foresee a new generation of pastors, college students, and young parents declaring Christ is King.
New Moms and Dads will declare, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
I see a nation experiencing revival and renewal for Christ’s sake.
I know that jobs may be lost, relationships fractured, and martyrs shot, but I also know that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.
By God’s grace, some of this dream is already active in and among our people.
By God’s grace, Risen Hope church engages Anamosa.
By God’s grace, Bible studies grow.
By God’s grace, lives are being changed!
We’re equipping all to engage God’s call.
For this end, I labor; for this vision, I pastor. Who’s with me?

Ways to participate in the ministry of Cornerstone Church…
#1: Join us for prayer on Wednesdays in October-December.  Every Wednesday from 12:15-45PM in Room 101, we will seek God’s favor and forgiveness.
#2: Pray individually, in your homes, among your small groups, and throughout the ministries of Cornerstone.
#3: Take your next step of obedience: believe in Christ, receive baptism, join the church family, love a neighbor, forgive an enemy, do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.

A few key dates:
 – Our 3rd Christmas Party is December 14th – 5-7PM! Our theme: “An Invitation to Wonder.” Start praying for those you’ll invite.
 – Our family meal and meeting is Sunday November 2nd! Join us for the after service potluck and then congregational meeting.
I love you…not as much as I should…but I love you. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel (and the many ways you show me mercy and grace).

SDG,
Pastor Matt
