To my dear church family,
Satan lies. He steals. He destroys. He kills. But Jesus…he leaves the glories of heaven to engage in the agonies of earth. He walks right into Satan’s territory. Satan even tempts Jesus with an earthly throne. Satan whispers, “Bow to me and I’ll give you the nations as an inheritance.” Jesus doesn’t succumb to these whispers. He maintains obedience and intimacy with His heavenly Father. He chooses suffering, rejection, and ultimately death. He accepts the death we deserve. He dies in our place. He gives himself as an offering for our sin. This is how much he loves you. This is how he punches your ticket for eternal glory. O, that we would lean on Christ, listen to Him, and place our hope in Him.

Friends, I am thankful to once again be engaged in the pastoral work of Cornerstone. Thank you for your prayers and support as I trained pastors in India. Thank you for loving my family while I traveled. And thank you also for praying for my Mom (Carol) after her fall yesterday. She’s patched up and now has a long road to recovery.
Key Church Events on the Horizon:
1) 11AM Funeral on Friday 1/23: Lord willing, many of you can come grieve with Linda Riemenschneider as we commit Rodney unto the LORD in a Christian funeral. Linda began worshipping with us toward the end of the summer. Please keep her in your prayers.
2) Sunday 1/25: We will continue our study in the Book of Revelation. Also, Blake Bottomley will begin his “Deep Dive into the Sermon on the Mount” during the 11AM Sunday School hour. Reminder: our two other adult classes are in Deuteronomy (in the Sanctuary) and a women’s study of Jeremiah (in Pastor Gary’s office).
3) Family Meal and Worship Night – Wednesday 1/28 – Join us for the Taco bar @6PM. Or just show up in time to sing to the LORD and seek His face @7PM. Please use this link to sign up to bring food: https://www.mealtrain.
