Sir Thomas Buxton enters the world in Essex, England in 1786. Later, he receives education at Trinity College, Dublin. In God’s mercy, Thomas Buxtons believes in Jesus Christ at the age of 27. Soon thereafter, electors place Sir Thomas Buxton as a member of Parliament. When William Wilberforce exits parliament, it’s Thomas Buxton who continues the fight against slavery. In later life, Thomas Buxton invests heavily in world missions. Beside great missionary leaders, such as Henry Venn, Thomas Buxton champions the idea of indigenous leadership and evangelization. He also assists in the development of culture, farming, and commerce among various people groups around the world.
How did such a leader accomplish so much? Here are Sir Thomas Buxton’s own words: “You know the value of prayer: it is precious beyond all price. Never, never neglect it.”
Friends,
To that end of not neglecting prayer, I invite all people who call Cornerstone Church their “home” to join us at 7PM in corporate prayer and worship at our church facility tonight Wednesday January 28. Better yet, join us also for the 6PM family meal. E.M. Bounds once wrote: “The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock in Heaven by which Christ carries on His great work upon earth….Ask of me is the one condition God puts in the very advance and triumph of His cause.”
See you tonight!!
