Dear church family,

Transitions are crucial times in a person’s life.

Way back when I started our sermon series in Joshua, I noted that God points people forward and commands them, “Arise and go over.” For you, this could be arise, and go over into the new land of marriage or the strange territory of parenting. Arise from college and go over to the new adventure of career. To succeed at these transitions, we need to stay close to God. He promises to be with us wherever we go; our task is to carefully keep God’s Word and keep to God’s way (Joshua 1:8). We have high school and college seniors in transition. Younger kids find a transition away from school. Parental responsibilities shift as well. Even the change in weather causes transitions on how we care for our properties. At whatever transition you find yourself today, I pray you keep God’s Word and keep to His way. Do not turn to the left or the right.

Some upcoming church matters:

#1: Help provide shoes for Start School Right campaign. Starting this Sunday May 27-June 7th we’re trying to raise funds and collect shoes to bless kids in need. (see picture at bottom)

#2: Please pray for the Cornerstone Elders as they take a 2-day prayer and planning retreat June 4-5. Pray that we keep in step with the Spirit.

#3: Please begin praying for the Proctors and the Cornerstone family while Pastor Matt takes a 6 week sabbatical June 8-July 19. Pray also for the various men doing a summer preaching series on prayer.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.

Love to you in Christ,
Pastor Matt
