Dear Church,
On a 25th wedding anniversary, it’s appropriate to exchange gifts of silver between husband and wife. Silver symbolizes something strong, pure, and noble. Cornerstone will celebrate its silver anniversary on Sunday September 13th. We will sit back and praise God for keeping us strong, guarding our purity, and granting us the privilege of noble service unto Him. We will also confess our sin together. We will admit we’ve failed individually and corporately of our failures to Christ and His Church. Then, we will remember Christ’s promise to guard His church. We live, breath, and abide in that promise.
Events related to the Silver Anniversary:
#1: Please go say hello and thank you to Kent and Jan McKinnon (the original church planting ministry couple) on Saturday September 12, during an open house from 2-5PM at Jeff and Jayne Olson’s home (945 Parkview Dr, Marion, IA).
#2: Join us Sunday morning for our Lord’s Day Gathering. We’ll hear from guests like Michael and Kayla Biegler with Ken and Vicki Sidey from Risen Hope Church; church planter Kent McKinnon and wife Jan will love on us as well. Liz Roemer (Tony and Lisa Weber’s daughter) will take her place at the piano in honor of her early service to the church in its founding days. We’ll remember Christ’s mercy and honor His work and pray for His further blessing. (Please come early to park a ways out in the parking lot and try to sit closer to the front and in the middle of each row.)
