Dear Church family,
A quick heads up, at least one person from our church received a fake, scam email impersonating me today claiming I needed help on a matter that “requires discretion.” Beware, delete, and mark as spam.
The Bible speaks of the danger of wolves in sheep’s clothing. Dangerous people try to make themselves look innocent. True shepherds are honest about how dangerous they really are. For example, I know I’m prone to power trips. I get angry more quickly than I wish. The idols of money, sex, and power nip at my soul. But for the grace of God, I would run after dangerous, fleshly pursuits. Beware of any person who puts on a mask of godliness. They are probably trying to lure you into dangerous places. The Apostle Paul knew himself to be the chief of sinners, an apostle untimely born, and quick to confess, “wretch man that I am, who will save me from this body of death.”

#2: We’re inching closer to completion on building projects. By the end of this week, we could have 1 of our 2 signs, landscaping (we’ve had some super helpful crews, thanks all!!), and our awnings should be up! (Pray for the cross sign to get approved by city before the snow falls; our preferred size remains in limbo.)
#3: Our 8:40AM Sunday morning prayer team has seen new members join us in prayer. I believe those weekly prayer gathering and our congregational prayer meetings receive God’s power and blessing for all the ministry we do. If you can join us for 8:40AM Sunday prayer, I would love to have you aboard! (Room 113, 8:40-9:10AM every Sunday.) Our next congregational prayer and worship night is October 7.
#4: Our next membership class is September 20, 12:15-3:45PM. It’s always a joy to see new faces want to join the family and the work of Cornerstone.
